My mom can make cookies out of anything. She doesn’t use recipes, ever. I on the other hand have always struggled with cookies. Even if I bothered to follow a recipe it did not guarantee the batch would turn out. That being said, I keep trying and I have to say I am getting better at cookies! Here is my recipe for sour cream, peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies. They are moist and almost cakey in consistency. The sour cream adds a delightful creaminess to the flavor!
1/2 cup softened butter
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1-1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
Heat oven to 350 degrees
Grease cookie sheet with a little butter
In a bowl cream sugar and butter together
Mix in egg, sour cream and peanut butter
Mix in baking soda, baking powder, chocolate chips, and flour.
Once thoroughly mixed roll into balls with hands and place balls on greased cookie sheet.
Bake in oven for about 15-20 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool.
Once cooled, stuff those yummy little treats in your mouth or serve them up to people. You know, whatever works best.
