Amish Apple Pudding Cake

Amish Apple pudding cake

Sometimes you just want a treat and this easy to make moist cake will hit the spot without being overly sweet! I have tested this exact recipe and it worked out great. I am not a huge fan of recipes because measuring is not my friend nor is having all the right ingredients that a recipe calls for. Do your best, tweak the rest, I am sure it will turn out fine!

Approximately 1 tablespoon of butter to grease baking dish

3 thinly sliced apples with the skin on but the core removed

2 beaten large eggs

1 cup milk

1 cup sugar

2 cups whole wheat flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 tablespoon of rolled oats to garnish

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease baking dish with butter. I used a glass baking dish but a regular baking square will work just fine as long as you adjust the time.

Place thinly slices apples in bottom of greased baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

In a separate bowl beat two whole large eggs, add flour,  sugar and baking powder. Mix in milk as you begin stirring. Don’t over mix, just stir until nice and smooth.

Pour over apples in baking dish.

Sprinkle with cinnamon and rolled oats.

Bake in oven uncovered for 45-60 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve warm with hot caramel sauce, milk, cream, pterodactyls or ice cream. (Basically, eat it the way you like it.)
